PORT ARTHUR HISTORICAL SOCIETY of Port Arthur, Texas has inducted Lonnie Brooks into the Music Hall of Fame. They will honor Lonnie for his contributions to world culture by creating
an exhibit recognizing his accomplishments. He will be officially inducted on January 20th, 2001. To qualify, a person must have roots in Southeast Texas/Southwest Louisiana, roughly bounded by
Houston and New Orleans, and their career must have had a national or international impact. He will be included with other performers from the Gulf Coast Region, including Ivory Joe Hunter (Blues at sunrise,
Since I met you Baby), Clifton Chenier, GateMouth Brown, Janis Joplin, George Jones, Johnny & Edgar Winter, and many many others.
